About Me
My name is Jackson Whitley, and I'm a high school senior at the Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science. I'm 17 years old and live in Harvard, Massachusetts with my parents and two brothers. I am currently pursuing biology, mathematics, and computer science at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Particularly, I am interested in bioinformatics and computational biology. I current work as a computational bio student intern in the Garber Lab at the UMass Chan Medical School.
School
The Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science at WPI is a tuition free school of excellence for 100 academically accelerated 11th and 12th grade students. While the program emphasizes math and science, the balanced curriculum offers equally rigorous preparation in the humanities and world languages. Juniors take a special program of challenging, project and problem based, interactive courses. Seniors attend classes at WPI, a premier science and engineering university, making Mass Academy the only public school in the state at which all students attend a private university full-time as high school seniors.

Sports
I love soccer! It's something that makes me happy, keeps me fit, and teaches me life skills. Ever since I can remember, it has always been a big part of my life. I play for the club team FC Stars and my town team of Harvard. My best positions are center back and center defensive mid. As a kid, I also was on the swim team, skied freestyle, played tennis, and ran track each for a couple of years.

Hobbies
When I’m not designing websites, you’ll find me outside exploring the outdoors. In the winter, I ski almost every weekend at my local mountain, Wachusett. I also love to moutain bike, hike, go to the gym, and mess around at the soccer field or basketball court with friends. These pursuits shape how I think about focus, balance, and long-term growth.
Mountain Biking
Moutain biking is my favorite way to get out and explore the outdoors. I love to ride my bike and explore the trails. Last year I biked Verbier!
Hiking
Nature is my happy place. I love to hike and explore the outdoors with my two younger brothers and my parents.
Travel
I love to travel because it's nice to just get away and see new places. Experiencing different cultures and trying new food is always great, even if it's just for the weekend.
